Week of March 28th

Science
Monday:  We will finish up with the nitrogen cycle activity we set up before the break and discuss the results.  We will begin our next portion of this unit on environmental problems.  No homework

Tuesday;  We will be looking at household hazardous wastes and what to do with them.  They will have an article to read and some questions to complete.

Wednesday:  We will discuss do's and don'ts for recycling here in Springfield.  They will need to finish the reading and questions over recycling here.

Thursday:  We will continue learning about recycling options and do an activity to sort recyclables.  No homework

Friday:  We will continue with activities to understand what items can and cannot be recycled.  They will have a work sheet, "Too Much Trash" to finish

Health:  This is the last week for their health unit.  The quarter will actually end next Monday and they will move on to their 4th quarter exploratory class on Tuesday

Monday:  We will review parts of the respiratory system and discuss lung capacity.  We will do an activity to check their own lung capacity

Tuesday:  We will learn about how the diaphragm works to help us breath and do an activity in class.  They will need to finish the lab activity w.s.

Wednersday;  We will discuss respiratory disorders.  They will need to finish a worksheet on the respiratory system.

Thursday:  We will begin the nervous system.  They will have an article to read and "talk back" to.

Friday:  We will continue discussing the parts of the brain and do some activities to help understand how these parts work.  They will have a worksheet on "Parts of the Brain"
